Tostadas espadas
When I pulled into Rio Grande City, I was hungry. I’d been driving all morning and after a hearty breakfast taco in Laredo, it was time to get some lunch. My first order of business was to stop at Caro’s, a classic restaurant famous for its puffed tostadas and tacos. Indeed, they were delicate and delicious, and I was satisfied.
After I checked my notes, however, I saw there was another destination for me in this South Texas town. It was a taqueria called Loro’s and I’d inscribed “tostadas espadas” next to its name. While I . . .
