Garlic herb salmon
When my friends and I were in our early twenties in Austin, and we were learning to cook, one friend had a recipe for salmon cooked with fresh dill and potatoes. None of us had ever cooked salmon before, let alone try something as fancy as adding potatoes and fresh herbs. But the dish turned out marvelous, and we all patted ourselves on the back for a dinner well done.
Because this wasn’t my recipe but my friend’s, I’ve never made this particular salmon preparation again. Over the summer, however, at my market . . .
