Hatch chile lime bread
The other day, a friend asked if I was prepared for Hatch chile season. When I replied that I had plenty of time to come up with recipes for this year’s crop of New Mexican long green chiles, he shook his head. The season has already arrived, he said.
Because I associate peppers with late summer, I scoffed at his proclamation. Then, I received a notice from my local market announcing its annual Hatch Chile festival. My friend was correct: hatch chile season is here.
