Cracker macaroni and cheese, North Texas style
The last dinner my grandma made for me was in November 2017. I was in town for a book signing, and while she hadn’t felt energetic enough to attend the event, she still cooked for us so we could celebrate my being in Texas.
Earlier that day, we’d eaten at Hutchins BBQ in McKinney, her favorite barbecue spot. We brought home sausage from our lunch, which she sliced and added to a pot of simmering black . . .
