Lemon lavender shortbread
The first time I encountered lemon lavender shortbread was in Tyler, Texas. I was passing through on an East Texas road trip and stopped at a food market for provisions. While I was shopping, I saw a display with a variety of treats including said cookies. Because I wasn’t in the mood for anything sweet, I passed on purchasing a box to try even though I was curious how the addition of flowers would taste. Some things stick with you, however, and indeed that intriguing shortbread has crossed my mind many times.
